Saint Hildegard von Bingen

“Some may be spiritual and can have a sports experience; others are more athletic and can have a spiritual experience. Hopefully both of them can agree with Hildegard: O quam mirabilis — How wonderful!”

Dr. Annette Esser, Scivias Institute for Art and Spirituality eV

Pilgrimage: Hildegard Way

Embark on the 137 km Hildegard of Bingen pilgrim’s path and hike in the footsteps of the saints through the land of Hildegard. Or take the 6.7 km footpath — a circular route through the vineyards of Rüdesheim to the parish and pilgrimage church of Eibingen and the Benedictine Abbey of St. Hildegard. John Muir

One of the best resources for making the film was The Contemplative John Muir by Stephen K. Hatch, who appears in the film. This is his “bible” of Muir quotations related to a vibrant and ecstatic spirituality of nature, including never-before-published selections from original journals in the John Muir Papers. Anyone seeking a deeper communion with nature will find it invaluable.

Also Florence Williams’s The Nature Fix — contributing editor at Outside Magazine and freelance writer for the New York Times and National Geographic. Her National Geographic feature This is Your Brain on Nature prompted an outreach that led to her appearing in the film.
